On May 2, 1945, at 3 p.m., the gunfire finally stopped in Berlin. Despite the storming of the Reichstag and the death of Hitler, the Germans continued to resist — until the Imperial Chancellery surrendered. This decisive victory was won by the corps of General Ivan Pavlovich Rosly, who played a key role in the fall of the last stronghold of fascism.
