The day the Earth stopped

During the Cold War, an alien named Klaatu arrives in Washington with a robot named Gort to demand that Earth stop nuclear testing. Wounded by the military, Klaatu escapes from the hospital and decides to explore humanity from the inside in order to find a way to peace.
